Andrew Richards has a diverse work experience that spans different industries and roles. Andrew started their career as an Adult Tutor at Bridgend County Borough Council in 2011, delivering level 1 and 2 courses to adults. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Photography Lecturer at Coleg Gwent, where they taught A Level photography and assessed students' work.
In 2016, Andrew transitioned to the role of a Residential Childcare Worker at LANDSKER CHILD CARE LTD, providing 1-1 care for children in the looked-after care system. Andrew also served as a keyworker and an ILS leader, responsible for implementing life skills at the house.
In 2019, Andrew became self-employed as a Graphic Designer, offering photography services and design to clients. Andrew worked to agreed guidelines, delivered photography within tight deadlines, and provided polite customer service.
Most recently, Andrew worked at EDGE Creative Ltd from 2021 to 2023 as a Junior Graphic Designer and Animator in a digital marketing agency. Andrew collaborated with senior designers to produce materials for both print and digital platforms, following brand guidelines. Andrew created various designs such as business cards, letterheads, banners stands, newsletters, web assets, and social media posts. Additionally, they worked on amending designs created by other designers.
Andrew's latest work experience is as a Junior Graphic Designer at The Royal Mint, which started in 2023.
Andrew Richards has a diverse education history. Andrew attended the University of Derby from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography. Following this, Andrew pursued further studies at the University of South Wales from 2006 to 2008, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree specializing in Documentary Photography. In 2009, they enrolled at Cardiff Metropolitan University and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a focus on Post Compulsory Education and Training. Continuing their education, Andrew attended Pembrokeshire College from 2016 to 2017 and achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People). Most recently, from 2018 to 2020, they studied Graphic Design at Birmingham Metropolitan College, obtaining a Higher National Diploma (HND) in the field.
