Estevam Hruschka

Estevam Hruschka has a diverse range of work experience spanning various roles and institutions. Their most recent position is as the Lab Director and Staff Research Scientist at Megagon Labs, starting in December 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Interim Head of Research at Megagon Labs from June 2021 to December 2022. Estevam also worked as a Staff Research Scientist at Megagon Labs from March 2020 to May 2021.

Before joining Megagon Labs, Estevam Hruschka held the position of Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University from January 2016 to February 2022. Estevam was also a Steering Committee Member at the AI for Good Foundation from April 2016 to January 2021.

In addition, Estevam Hruschka worked at Amazon as part of the MachineLearning@Amazon team from 2017 to 2020. Estevam started their academic career at UFSCar - Federal University of São Carlos, where they served as an Associate Professor from 2012 to 2019, and as an Assistant Professor from 2004 to 2012.

Estevam Hruschka has also held professorship positions at Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne in 2017 and at Tsinghua University in 2015 as an Invited Professor and Invited Visiting Professor, respectively. Furthermore, they served as a Visiting Professor at Carnegie Mellon University from January 2008 to March 2010.

Lastly, Estevam Hruschka held teaching roles at Universidade Positivo, starting as an Assistant Professor from 1998 to 2003, and later as a Full Professor from March 2003 to August 2004.

Estevam Hruschka has a strong educational background in Computer Science. Estevam received their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from UEL - Universidade Estadual de Londrina, where they studied from 1991 to 1994. Estevam then pursued further studies and obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Universidade de Brasília, completing their studies from 1995 to 1997. Estevam Hruschka's education journey continued as they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where they studied from 2000 to 2003.
