Marcus Crowell has a diverse work experience in the field of social work. Marcus began their career as a Medical Case Manager at Pierce County AIDS Foundation in 2011. In this role, they completed intakes, conducted comprehensive assessments, and developed individual service plans for clients. Marcus also worked as a Community Health Educator-Liaison for the Mpowerment Project Oasis Facilitator, where they marketed and publicized the program, recruited and maintained a core group, and conducted meetings.
In 2015, Marcus served as an MSW Intern at DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center), where they interacted with clients, performed partial assessments, and developed plans and follow-up strategies.
From 2016 to 2016, Marcus worked as a Mental Health Technician at MultiCare Health System. Marcus operated in an interdisciplinary team on an Adult Psych unit, provided biopsychosocial assessments, and delivered individualized interventions.
In 2017, Marcus joined Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare as a Clinical Social Work Intern. In this role, they developed individual treatment plans, provided behavioral counseling and crisis stabilization services, and offered case management and referrals as needed.
During their time at CHI Franciscan Health from 2018 to 2020, Marcus worked as a Social Worker in Care Management. Marcus assessed and provided support for patients' social and emotional needs, participated in multi-disciplinary teams, and performed professional activities such as mental health screening, crisis intervention, and after-care planning.
In 2017, Marcus also worked as a Dialysis Facility Social Worker at Fresenius Medical Care North America. Marcus assessed patients' psychosocial status, strengths, and areas of need, participated in care planning, utilized patient education programs and quality of life measurement instruments, and resolved barriers to meet treatment goals.
Most recently, Marcus has been a Travel Case Manager at Meleeo since May 2020.
Marcus Crowell holds a Master's Degree in Social Work, which they obtained from the University of Washington between 2014 and 2017. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Brandman University from 2011 to 2012. Marcus started their higher education journey at Tacoma Community College, where they pursued an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology from 2007 to 2011.
In addition to their educational achievements, Marcus has obtained several certifications. In September 2013, they completed the HIPAA-HIV/AIDS training from the NASW- National Association of Social Workers. During the same period, they also obtained a Medical Case Management Certificate from the NASW-NJ (National Association of Social Workers- NJ Chapter). In April 2012, they completed the HIV Prevention Counseling Training offered by the Washington State Department of Health. Marcus further enriched their qualifications by completing the Mpowerment Training in March 2012, provided by the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies at the University of California San Francisco. Finally, Marcus obtained a license as a social worker independent clinical associate (LSWAIC) from the Washington State Department of Health in July 2017.
