Hasan Fevzi Batirel

Hasan Fevzi Batirel currently serves as the Secretary General of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons since June 2021 and is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Memorial Healthcare Group since December 2019. Previously, Hasan held the position of Professor at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine Thoracic Surgery from July 2010 to December 2021 and served as a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Özel Academic Hospital from July 2017 to December 2019. Additionally, Hasan was the Dean of Marmara University Faculty of Medicine from July 2010 to July 2014. Educational qualifications include a Clinical Fellowship in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School from 1999 to 2001 and a Research Scholar in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in 1998.
