Taro Minami

Taro Minami has a diverse and extensive work experience. Taro is currently the Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Care New England, Kent Hospital since 2022. Taro has also worked as an Adjunct Clinical Professor and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Johnson & Wales University since 2018, and as an Associate Professor of Medicine, Clinician Educator at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University since 2011. Taro has also held various roles at the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians. In addition, Taro has served as the Director of Medical Simulation and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Training, Department of Medicine at Care New England since 2019. Taro has also worked as a Visiting Professor at Tokyo Women's Medical University and as a Clinical Professor and Clinical Associate Professor at Kyoto University. Lastly, Taro was the Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care Simulation and Ultrasound Training at Memorial Hospital of RI and a Fellow in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center.

Taro Minami's education history is as follows: Taro attended Eiko Gakuen High School from 1987 to 1990. After completing high school, they went on to study Physics at The University of Tokyo from 1990 to 1992, although they did not obtain a degree in this field. In 1992, they enrolled at Kyoto University and graduated in 1998 with a degree in Medicine (MD).

In addition to their formal education, Taro Minami also obtained several certifications. In September 2006, they became board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Taro further specialized by obtaining certifications in Pulmonary Medicine (October 2009) and Critical Care Medicine (October 2010), both from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Lastly, in June 2017, they received the Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography (ASCeXAM) Testamur from the NATIONAL BOARD OF ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY INC.
