Barry K. Herman, M.D., M.M.M.

Barry K. Herman, M.D., M.M.M. has extensive experience in the medical and healthcare industry. Barry K. is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Mentavi Health since 2023. Prior to this role, they were a Member of the Board of Directors at Project Healthy Minds, a startup non-profit focused on mental health.

From 2020 to 2022, Dr. Herman worked as the Chief Medical Officer at Atentiv LLC. Before that, they held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Tris Pharma from 2017 to 2020. During their time at Tris Pharma, they had executive oversight of medical functions and was responsible for multiple ongoing clinical development programs.

Barry K. was also an Executive Medical Director at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, where they led a field-based medical science liaison group and managed FTEs.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Herman held various roles at Pfizer, including Global Senior Medical Director and Senior Regional Medical Director. Barry K. provided medical support for the Lyrica clinical program and was a field-based senior regional medical director.

Dr. Herman began their career as a Medical Director at United Healthcare.

Barry K. Herman, M.D., M.M.M. has an extensive education history. Barry K. completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Clark University. Barry K. then attended Conard High School for their secondary education. Following that, they pursued pre-medical studies at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Herman obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Tufts University, specializing in Medicine. Barry K. furthered their medical education by completing a PGY-1 Residency in Internal Medicine at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital/USC School of Medicine.

Dr. Herman then pursued a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Stanford University. In addition to their medical training, they also obtained a Master's in Medical Management (M.M.M.) from Tulane University, specializing in the field of Medical Management.

Dr. Herman holds several additional certifications. Barry K. is certified as a Physician Executive (CPE) by the CERTIFYING COMMISSION IN MEDICAL MANAGEMENT INC, which they obtained in January 1998. Barry K. is also a Diplomate of the Graduate Program in Medical Management, American College of Physician Executives (now AAPL), obtained in January 1997. Furthermore, they are board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc, which they achieved in February 1986. Finally, they hold board certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry from the same institution, obtained in February 1987.
