Shane Better

Shane Better is an accomplished individual currently serving as a Global Fellow at Birthright Israel Excel, selected from a highly competitive pool for leadership development. As a Hertog Foundation Fellow, Shane has engaged with critical texts in humanities and political theory, focusing on works such as Emily Wilson's Iliad and Machiavelli’s The Prince. Shane also holds the position of Vice President of Programming at Collegium Institute, overseeing initiatives that explore the Western and Catholic intellectual traditions. Additional fellowships include the Maimonides Fellowship and Jewish Learning Fellowships at Penn Hillel, highlighting a commitment to Jewish education and cultural heritage. An Investment Analyst Intern at Grove Ventures, Shane brings experience in venture capital, and prior roles include coordinating international development initiatives and a focus on educational outreach. Currently pursuing dual Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Comparative Literature at the University of Pennsylvania, Shane also holds a French certificate from L'Institut de Touraine.
