Karen Arends

Karen Arends has extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. Karen currently works as the Corporate Accounting Manager at Meow Wolf since June 2020. Before that, they served as the Controller - Marmon Ride Control at The Marmon Group from December 2017 to May 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Ingevity as the Director Internal Audit from January 2016 to June 2017, and as the Finance Director, Performance Materials from February 2013 to December 2015. Before joining Ingevity, Karen worked at AstenJohnson in various roles including Senior Business Analyst - FP&A, Internal Auditor/Global Operations Analyst, Global Standard Costing Team Leader, and Group Business Controller from September 2002 to February 2013. Karen also gained experience at International Paper as a Plant Controller in the Beverage Packaging Division and Europe, as well as an Operations Control Consultant/Internal Auditor from 1994 to 2001.

Karen Arends earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting and Business/Management from The University of Kansas. Karen then pursued further education at the Darla Moore School of Business, where they obtained an International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) and a Master of International Business Studies (MIBS) degree, with a focus on Finance and French. Karen also holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), although the month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
