Scott Kurtis was the Director of Operations, Head Trader and Partner at Asian Century Quest Capital, a New York-based hedge fund focused on Asian investments with satellite offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo. During the firm’s nine-year growth from $5 million to $2 billion in assets under management, Scott built the fund’s operational framework, risk management systems, and treasury operations as the fund’s clients and counterparty needs expanded well beyond its initial scope. Scott’s risk focus centered on three key areas: portfolio, operational and counterparty risk; ACQ operated unencumbered and without interruption during the Lehman bankruptcy, the 2011 Tokyo earthquake, and Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Scott has worked as a Senior International Trader for Artisan (2016-2018) and Harris Associates (2018-2022) since 2016 specializing in European and Asian equities. Prior to ACQ, Scott worked as an Asian trader for Maverick Capital as well as an international sales-trader for Goldman Sachs in Chicago. Scott graduated from Northwestern University in 2001 with a BS in Journalism and a dual degree in Economics. Scott also earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in 2018. While in undergrad, Scott earned the 2000 Vandy Christie Award for “outstanding loyalty and dedication” to the tennis program as a member of the varsity tennis team.
