John Winemiller

John Winemiller has a diverse work experience. John currently holds the role of Chief Diversity Officer at Merchant & Gould P.C., where they also served as Office Managing Partner and Partner, specializing in intellectual property law and litigation. John was previously an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law and served as VP Long Range Planning at the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. Prior to that, they worked as an Attorney at Hunton & Williams LLP. John also gained experience as a Law Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

John Winemiller completed their education starting from high school and progressing to university. John attended Marshfield Senior High School from 1981 to 1984, and after graduating, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at Carleton College. John completed their undergraduate studies from 1984 to 1988, graduating with Magna cum Laude honors. Following this, they pursued further academic achievements at the University of Chicago and obtained a Ph.D. in Music History and Theory, which they completed between 1988 and 1994. John's education culminated in their attendance at the University of Tennessee College of Law from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a J.D. degree with the highest distinction of Summa cum Laude.
