Carol Gassen

Carol Gassen has had a diverse work experience in the banking and legal industry. Carol began their career as a Regional Compliance Officer at Firstar Corporation in 1992 and held the position until 1997. From 1997 to 2003, they served as a Legal Administrator at DeFur Voran Hanley Radcliff & Reed, LLP. In 2009, they joined Salin Bank & Trust as a VP, Compliance and CRA Officer, and remained in that role until 2013. Carol then moved to First Internet Bank, where they held the position of VP Compliance and CRA Officer from 2013 to 2015. Since 2015, Carol has been working at Merchants Bank of Indiana, starting as a VP, Chief Compliance Officer, CRA and BSA Officer, and currently serving as the SVP Chief Compliance Officer CRA and BSA Officer.

Carol Gassen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance from Iowa State University, where they studied from 1980 to 1983. Prior to that, they attended Colorado State University from 1979 to 1980, but did not complete a degree or specify a field of study. In 2018, Carol obtained a certification as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) from the American Bankers Association.
