Dr. Paul Jurman has a strong background in healthcare technology and digital transformation. Dr. Paul currently serves on the Optus Business Strategic Advisory Board and holds the position of Chief Information & Digital Transformation Officer at Mercy Health Australia. Dr. Paul is also a member of the Australian Private Hospital CIO Group, Victoria Health Chief Information Officer's Committee (VHCIOC), and the Australian Aged Care CIO network (acCIOn). Previously, Dr. Jurman worked as the Chief Information Officer and Director of Digital Transformation at Uniting AgeWell. Dr. Paul also held various roles at Monash Health, including Program Director Digital for the Victorian Heart Hospital and Chief Technology Officer. Before that, they were Divisional CIO/IS Director Health Services - Australia & New Zealand at Bupa Australia & New Zealand. Dr. Jurman's earlier experience includes serving as Chief Information Officer (Interim) and Deputy CIO & Director Information Technology at Monash Health, as well as State Manager ICT, Pathology (Victoria) at Dorevitch Pathology.
Dr. Paul Jurman holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from the Australian Institute of Business, specializing in Telehealth. Dr. Paul also obtained a Center for Executive Education - CIO Institute certificate from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business in 2015. In 2012, they completed a Masters of Business Administration degree at Deakin University, and in 2003, they obtained a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance) degree from Victoria University. Dr. Jurman also completed various certifications, including the Certified Health Informatician Australasia from the Australasian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH) in 2018. Dr. Paul is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds certifications in ITIL, PRINCE2, project management, and more.
