Matthew Texler has a diverse work background in the fields of policy analysis and commercial mortgage debt. Matthew started their career as an Asset Manager at Houlihan Parnes Realtors, LLC in 1996 and later worked as a Senior CMBS Underwriter at The Rain Wine Real Estate Group. In 1999, Texler joined Meridian Capital Group as a Vice President and originated and closed over $7B in commercial mortgages. Matthew then transitioned to the International Economic Development Council as a Policy Analyst before joining the State of Maryland's Department of Business and Economic Development in the same capacity. Matthew briefly worked at the White House's National Economic Council as a Policy Analyst before returning to Meridian Capital Group as a Managing Director in 2011. In that role, Texler was responsible for sourcing over $12B in new commercial mortgage debt for various properties. During their time at Meridian Capital Group, they specialized in affordable, rent stabilized, and market rate multifamily properties. Texler is experienced in deal management, new loan product development, and research/analytics. Overall, they have had extensive experience in the commercial mortgage industry and policy analysis.
Matthew Texler's education history includes a Master's in Community Planning with a focus on Housing and Economic Development, which they obtained from the University of Maryland between 2009 and 2011. Prior to that, they completed a Master's in Political Science with a specialization in International Political Economy at the University at Albany, SUNY from 1995 to 1996. Additionally, they received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from the same university, where they studied from 1991 to 1995.
