Adam Heinz has a diverse work experience in various roles related to data and analytics. Adam started their career in 2003 as a Personnel Archives Officer at the New Zealand Defence Force. Adam then worked as a Research Analyst and Developer at the Ministry of Justice from 2004 to 2012. At the Christchurch City Council, they served as a Research Analyst and Developer in the Strategy and Planning department from 2012 to 2017. Adam also worked as a Data Engineer in the Smart Cities division at the same company from 2017 to 2018. Adam then moved on to PGG Wrightson Ltd, where they worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst and Developer from 2018 to 2021. At IAG, they worked as a Data Engineer from 2021 to 2023. Currently, they are employed as a Business Intelligence Specialist at Meridian Energy, starting in 2023.
Adam Heinz completed their education at the University of Canterbury. Adam obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Political Science from 1999 to 2000. Adam then pursued a Master of Arts (Distinction) degree in Political Science from 2000 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, Adam also attained various certifications. In 2017, they obtained edX Verified Certificates for Introduction to Python for Data Science, Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Excel, Analyzing and Visualizing Data with PowerBI, Introduction to R for Data Science, and Querying with Transact-SQL.
