Chiraag Ishwar has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Chiraag started their career as a Cafe Assistant at Chipmunks Playland & Cafe in 2011, followed by a role as a Shop Assistant at Bargain City until 2014. In 2017, Chiraag worked as a Research Scholar at the University of Canterbury, where they completed a project on assessing the power quality of heat pumps and its impact on the national electricity grid.
In 2018, Chiraag joined Nash NZ as a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, where they designed lightweight racing hinges using Solidworks and conducted FEA analysis. Chiraag then moved to Elemental Group Limited in 2019 for a Fixed Term Graduate Renewable Energy Engineer role. In this position, they transformed their Masters dissertation on Offshore Wind for New Zealand into a business case report and worked on projects developing Photovoltaic (PV) - Battery Hybrid systems in the Caribbean.
From 2019 to 2022, Chiraag worked as an Advisor at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), providing expertise and guidance in the energy sector. Currently, they are employed as an Energy Modelling Analyst at Meridian Energy, starting in 2022. With their diverse experience, Chiraag has showcased their ability to work both independently and collaboratively, develop professional skills in meeting environments, and contribute to the renewable energy and sustainability sector.
Chiraag Ishwar pursued their education in a systematic manner, beginning with their enrollment at Tawa College from 2009 to 2013. During this period, they completed their NCEA Level 3, which served as the foundation for their future academic pursuits. Continuing their educational journey, Chiraag attended the University of Canterbury from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a Honours degree in Natural Resources Engineering. Building upon their previous degree, they then pursued a Master's degree at the same university in 2018, specializing in Engineering Studies and focusing on Renewable Energy. Chiraag's education history showcases their gradual progression in academia, with their latest qualification equipping him with expertise in their desired field.
