Jason Stein

Jason Stein has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jason began their career in 1997 as a Finance Lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Jason then moved on to work as an In-House Counsel at WestLB from 1998 to 2000, followed by a role as Vice President and Senior Counsel at Merrill Lynch from 2000 to 2003. In 2004, Jason joined Vector Limited as a Group Legal Manager until 2007.

In 2008, Jason joined Meridian Energy and held multiple roles throughout their tenure. Jason started as the General Manager of the Office of the CEO and later served as the Acting Chief Customer Officer. Jason remained with Meridian Energy until 2019.

Following this, Jason took up leadership positions at Meridian Energy Australia and Powershop Australia. At Meridian Energy Australia, they served as the Chief Executive Officer from 2020 to 2022, driving the company's objective of sustainable energy generation. Then, at Powershop Australia, they assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, leading the only energy retailer in Australia certified as 100% carbon neutral.

Currently, Jason is working at Meridian Energy as the Chief People Officer. Jason assumed this role in February 2022 and later transitioned to the permanent position. In this capacity, they oversee the company's human resources and people management functions.
