Timothy J. MacKenzie

Timothy J. MacKenzie, CFA, Managing Director, joined Merit in 1993. Tim was previously a Senior Vice President of Fiduciary Capital, a publicly raised mezzanine fund. Prior to that, he worked at Prudential Capital Corporation in both the Dallas and Milwaukee regional offices. His responsibilities with Prudential Capital included the management of a significant portfolio and the generation of private placement and mezzanine investments. From 1982 to 1986, Tim was a Vice President with RepublicBank Dallas, specializing in domestic and multi-national middle market lending.

Tim received his M.B.A. from the University of Illinois with a concentration in finance and a B.A. from Northwestern University in 1980 with a major in economics. He earned the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst in 1990.

Tim and his wife reside in Hinsdale, Illinois and have three adult children. His community activities have included serving as the Board Chairman of Young Life (DuPage County), a nondenominational outreach ministry for high school students, and as Board Chairman for Bridge Communities, a transitional housing association assisting homeless families. Tim is currently the Board Chairman of Chicago Men’s Fellowship, Treasurer of Hinsdale Golf Club, Trustee of Christ Church of Oak Brook, President of the local Young Life Foundation, and a board member with All God’s Children (a sponsor of numerous Honduran orphanages and ministries). Tim is regular guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and serves with his wife as mentors for Chicago’s LINK Scholar program.
