Ian Hughes

Ian Hughes has a diverse work experience in the fields of environmental and government affairs, with a focus on building and construction. Ian served as the Vice President for Environmental & Government Affairs at Meritage Homes from June 2022 to present. Additionally, they served as a Member of the Board of Directors for RESNET since January 2024. Prior to that, Ian was a Member of the Board of Directors for Green Building Alliance from September 2015 to January 2023. Ian also worked at Covestro, where they held various roles, including Senior Manager of Building & Construction from April 2018 to May 2022, and Advocacy Manager from 2013 to April 2018. Furthermore, Ian served as a Member of the Board of Directors for SPEER South-central Partnership for Energy Efficiency as a Resource from March 2016 to April 2018.

Ian Hughes has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English from Allegheny College, which they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed a College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program at South Kent School from 1996 to 1998. Ian later pursued a Master of Public and International Affairs (MPIA) degree from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) between 2010 and 2012. Ian is currently working towards a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Youngstown State University, expected to be completed in 2023. Additionally, they obtained the ESG Competent Board Certificate and Designation (GCB.D) from Competent Boards, although the specific month of attainment is unknown.
