Aurélie Carlier is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in computational modeling, biomaterials, machine learning, and gene regulatory networks. Currently serving as an associate professor at the MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine since October 2015, Aurélie also holds the position of council member and chair of the Student and Education Committee at the European Society of Biomechanics since July 2020. Prior experience includes a post-doctoral fellowship at Research Foundation Flanders from September 2010 to September 2015, focusing on multiscale modeling, angiogenesis, and bone regeneration. Aurélie's academic journey began with a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering from KU Leuven, complemented by a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science from the same institution. Aurélie gained international experience as a visiting scholar at Johns Hopkins University, where involvement included image-based modeling of tumor VEGF distribution.
