Director of Research at Merlyn Mind

Leigh Hall has extensive experience in research and education. From 2022 to the present, Leigh serves as the Director of Research at Merlyn Mind. Prior to this, Leigh worked at the University of Wyoming from 2017 to 2022, where they held the role of QUALITATIVE RESEARCHER | WYOMING EXCELLENCE CHAIR IN LITERACY. In this position, Leigh designed and conducted research using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches. They collaborated with diverse stakeholders to achieve research objectives.

Before joining the University of Wyoming, Leigh worked at the University of North Carolina from 2005 to 2017 as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Literacy Studies. In this role, Leigh conducted qualitative research on literacy development for middle and high school students. They published and presented their findings and designed courses for undergraduate and masters students in literacy education. Leigh also researched and utilized technological tools to support student learning.

Leigh Hall pursued their M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University for a year from 1996 to 1997. Later on, they continued their education journey by attending Michigan State University from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Their field of study during their doctoral program was focused on Literacy & Teacher Education.
