Rodd Halstead

Rodd Halstead has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Rodd started their career in 1980 as a Software Engineer and Medical Research Technician at Harvard Medical School, where they focused on image processing, data acquisition, statistical analysis, and research.

Rodd then worked at Symbolics Inc as a Member of the Technical Staff from 1985 to 1988 before joining Lotus Development as a Senior Engineering Manager from 1988 to 1993. At Lotus, their role is unspecified.

From 1993 to 1996, Halstead served as a Senior Engineering Manager at OneSource Information Services, where they provided engineering direction for business news and financial filings publishing strategy.

Rodd then moved on to be a Lead Engineer and Architect at InterActive WorkPlace from 1996 to 1997, where they were responsible for the design and implementation of a web-hosted company newsfeed and profile database.

Halstead joined Siebel Systems in 1997 and held multiple roles during their tenure. Rodd started as a Group Engineering Manager until 2005, where they managed the design and development of large-scale enterprise database applications. Rodd later became an Engineering and Product Management professional until 2006, responsible for translating customer product requirements into working software.

As an Independent Consultant from 2006 to 2007, Halstead worked as a Web Application Developer, focusing on problem definition, solution vision, content structure analysis, and assessment of existing applications and design specifications.

Rodd then joined Dassault Systèmes and worked as a Director of Web Development for 3DVIA.com, a social media website for 3D models, from 2007 to 2014. During this time, they led development and operations and made direct contributions to the platform. Rodd also worked as a Consulting Engineer for 3D Application Development from 2009 to 2013.

In 2015, Halstead joined Connexient as a Technical Product Director, where they conducted competitive analysis and assessed usability of indoor navigation technologies until 2017.

Currently, they hold the role of Data Scientist at Datasite since 2017. Rodd'sresponsibilities include data science, software development, data analysis, visualization, and presentation as a member of the Datasite Product R&D organization.

Throughout their career, Halstead has demonstrated expertise in various technologies such as BLE, WiFi, location-based services, Python, R-Language, MS Excel, Oracle SQL, and Mongo DB/JSON data storage.

Rodd Halstead completed their high school education at Punahou School, from 1971 to 1975. Rodd then went on to study at Harvard University, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1980.
