Gang Chen

Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Mesentech

Gang Chen has extensive work experience in the field of medicinal chemistry. Gang is currently serving as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Mesentech since July 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Lab Manager and Research Associate at Simon Fraser University starting from June 2012. In this position, they ensured the safe and efficient running of the research lab and conducted synthesis and testing of novel compounds for bone growth stimulation.

Before joining Simon Fraser University, Gang Chen worked as a Chemist at Transition from March 2012 to May 2012. Gang also served as a Research Scientist II at Cardiome Pharma Corp from August 2006 to March 2012 and as a Senior Scientist at AnorMED from September 2001 to June 2006. Overall, Gang Chen has accumulated significant expertise and knowledge in the field of medicinal chemistry through their diverse roles and experiences.

Gang Chen's education history is as follows:

In 1990, Gang Chen enrolled at Peking University and completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry in 1995.

Afterward, they pursued their Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of New Brunswick from 1995 to 1999.

From 1999 to 2001, Gang Chen conducted postdoctoral research in Organic Chemistry at The University of British Columbia.

In 2007, Gang Chen attended the University of Florida as an exchange student, focusing on Chemistry/biochemistry.
