Baxter has a long history of innovating in the electronics manufacturing industry. Richard was the founder and Chief Technology Officer of Pensar Corporation, which was acquired by SMTC Corporation in 2000. At Pensar, Baxter pioneered the development of software tools for managing the electronics manufacturing process. Richard also played a key role in the development of SMTC's Global Design Services division.
Baxter's career in the electronics manufacturing industry began at National Semiconductor, where they worked as an engineer from 1981 to 1983. Richard then founded Pensar Corporation in 1983, and served as its Chief Technology Officer until its acquisition by SMTC Corporation in 2000. Baxter joined SMTC Corporation as Senior Vice President of Global Design Services in January 2000, and served in that role until December 2005. Richard then founded Mesh Systems in 2006.
Baxter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
