Catherine Shaw

Catherine Shaw has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Catherine initially worked as a Research and Development Chemist at Associated Octel, where they were responsible for the research and development of transport fuel additives. Catherine then moved on to Mars Confectionery, where they held various roles, including Personnel Manager and Technical Services Specialist. In these positions, they managed HR issues, recruitment and selection processes, and implemented company policies.

Afterwards, Catherine transitioned to Fiserv, where they served as a Human Resources Director. In this role, they oversaw all strategic and operational aspects of HR across the EMEA region, managing a team of HR professionals supporting 400 resources in 11 countries. One of their key achievements was project managing a major organizational change to establish a new International Division.

Following their time at Fiserv, Catherine joined the General Council of the Bar as a Human Resources Director. Here, they developed and implemented a successful HR strategy aligned with organizational objectives, working within a complex governance structure. Catherine managed a team of 8 and was responsible for all aspects of the HR and Facilities functions.

Most recently, Catherine joined Mesmerise as the Head Of Human Resources, being a member of the Executive Team. Catherine is responsible for devising and implementing a complete HR support service for the start-up. Some of their accomplishments so far include organizing and facilitating staff and executive team meetings, implementing a performance appraisal and salary review process, and harmonizing employment terms.

Catherine Shaw's education history includes two notable periods of study. From 1984 to 1987, they attended the University of Exeter, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry. Additionally, they attended Farnborough College of Technology from 2000 to 2002 and completed a Diploma in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General.

Catherine Shaw has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2004, they became a Chartered Member of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).
