Charles J. Hoover serves as the Director of Research Development and General Manager of Facebook Reality Lab in Pittsburgh, focusing on advanced Augmented and Virtual Reality research, particularly utilizing machine learning and computer vision techniques. In addition to their role at Meta, Hoover is an Adjunct Faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University, where Charles J. teaches a course on Production and Leadership in the Entertainment Technology Center graduate program. Hoover has also been a board member at the Pittsburgh Technology Council since 2019, promoting the growth of technology sectors in the region. Prior to their current positions, Hoover held various leadership roles at Schell Games, including Chief Production Officer and Vice President of Production, and was instrumental in managing significant client relationships. Hoover's earlier career includes experience as a Senior Producer at Electronic Arts and as a co-founder of Airship Studios, contributing to the development of casual games. Hoover holds Master's degrees in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and Architecture from Virginia Tech.
