Hechen Gao

Hechen Gao is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Meta since September 2024. Previously, Hechen held multiple roles at Unity from June 2017 to September 2024, including Director of Software Engineering, Senior Software Engineering Manager, and Lead Software Engineer. Earlier experience includes roles as a Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Platform at Autodesk from February 2015 to June 2017, where focus was on building distributed systems, and as a Teaching & Research Assistant at Northeastern University from January 2013 to December 2014. Internships at MathWorks and Autodesk further contributed to expertise in software development. Hechen earned a Master of Science in Information Systems from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tongji University, alongside participation in an exchange program in Computer Science at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
