Zoltán Bődi has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Zoltán started their career in 2001 as the owner of a privately-owned IT consultancy, where they worked as a consultant and software developer in the finance and banking sector. From 2002 to 2011, they served as a project manager, IT system analyst, and developer at Volksbank, working on projects such as Basel II data warehouse development and SWIFTNet migration.
In 2005, Zoltán joined MOL Rt. as a card system analyst and developer, where they led a POS terminal replacement project across multiple countries in the MOL group. Zoltán worked on functional and protocol level specifications, testing, live introduction, and vendor management.
From 2011 to 2018, Zoltán held software developer roles at Morgan Stanley, specializing in identity and authentication services. In these roles, they developed software and worked on identity data management projects.
In 2018, Zoltán became an engineering manager at Docler, leading the BI/Big Data team. Zoltán also worked as a senior data engineer, contributing to the development and operation of an analytics platform.
Zoltán's next role was as a data engineer and tech lead at Rollbar in 2020, where they coordinated the engineering and development efforts of the Intelligence squad.
In 2021, Zoltán joined Cloudera as a staff data engineer, focusing on dimensional DWH modeling, solution refactoring, and new ETL processes. Zoltán utilized the Cloudera Data Platform and technologies like dbt, Airflow, Apache Deequ, and great_expectations.
In the same year, Zoltán also started their own consulting business, Senseful Consulting, where they provided consultancy services.
Most recently, Zoltán joined Metabase in 2023 as a success engineer, contributing to the success of the company.
Throughout their career, Zoltán has gained expertise in various technologies, including SQL, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kafka, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, and cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP. Zoltán has also worked with analytical tools like Metabase and Looker. Zoltán has demonstrated their strong skills in data engineering, team leadership, and project management in their roles.
Zoltán Bődi attended Budapest University of Technology and Economics from 1992 to 1994, where they pursued an Engineer in Informatics degree. In terms of additional certifications, Zoltán completed the "Introduction to Data Science in Python" course at Coursera in March 2018, the "R Programming" course in January 2017, and the "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" course in May 2013, all offered by Coursera.
