Janne Salminen

Janne Salminen has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Janne began their career as an intern at the Permanent Mission of Finland to the Conference on Disarmament in 2004. Janne then served as a Legal Adviser in the Finnish Defence Forces, providing advice on laws of armed conflicts and supervising disciplinary investigations.

In 2006, Salminen joined Castrén & Snellman as an Associate, specializing in intellectual property rights, technology law, and mergers and acquisitions. Janne advised both public and private clients on intellectual property protection, technology agreements, and transaction projects.

Salminen transitioned to Fondia Oy in 2008, where they worked as a Legal Counsel. Janne'sexpertise focused on intellectual property rights issues, technology-related agreements, and technology-related mergers and acquisitions. Notably, they served as a member of a group that drafted Finnish IT2010 standard contract terms and conditions.

In 2011, Salminen joined Rovio Entertainment Ltd. as their first in-house counsel. Janne developed contracts for newly-adopted business models and revenue streams, with a particular emphasis on mobile game development, marketing, licensing, and brand cooperation. Salminen also gained experience working with various operating systems and platforms.

Salminen briefly worked at Blue Bird Distribution, Inc., a subsidiary of Rovio Entertainment Ltd., as President and later as Director of Business Affairs and Corporate Secretary. Janne contributed to Rovio's Animation Division leadership team and performed corporate secretarial duties during this time.

From 2017 to 2021, Salminen served as a Senior Legal Counsel at Rovio Entertainment Corporation. Janne provided advice on various aspects of mobile application development, collaboration, prototyping, advertisement monetization, user acquisition, privacy matters (including GDPR and COPPA), and technology license agreements.

Currently, Salminen holds the position of General Counsel at Metacore Games, a Helsinki-based games company. Janne is responsible for all legal matters and serves as a member of Metacore's Leadership Team and secretary of the Board of Directors. Metacore Games is known for its rapid growth and chart-topping mobile gaming experiences in Europe.

Janne Salminen earned their Master of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki, where they studied law from 2000 to 2006.
