Karl G. Gutbrod

Karl G. Gutbrod is the CEO of meteoblue AG, a weather company established as a spin-off from the University of Basel, since November 2007. Under Karl's leadership, meteoblue has become a prominent provider of daily weather forecasts and global weather history, serving customers in over 20 countries since 2012. Prior to this role, Karl served as Agronomic Information Services Manager at Syngenta, where responsibilities included developing and marketing services globally, and previously held positions such as Head of Communications and Public Affairs in China and Head of Biotech Business Development. Karl's earlier experience includes roles at Novartis as Global Product Manager for cereal herbicides, and various positions at Ciba-Geigy in global product management and development for herbicides. Karl began a career in public service as a Project Assistant at GIZ. Karl holds a PhD in Agronomy and Crop Science from The University of Göttingen and a Diploma of Education in Agronomy and Crop Science from the University of Hohenheim.
