Yuan Su has extensive work experience in software engineering and management roles. Yuan started their career as an intern at IBM Canada in 2003, where they primarily focused on designing and executing FVT test buckets for DB2's newest features. Yuan also led the design of new local-aware scalar SQL functions. In 2005, they became a Software Engineer at IBM Canada and worked on DB2 System Testing, helping to develop tools and perform comprehensive tests to ensure high-quality releases. Yuan closely collaborated with the DB2 Development team to gather data and conduct problem analysis. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of Staff Software Engineer and later became a Technical Lead, leading the dashDB technical foundation team and driving DevOps transformation within the organization. Yuan worked primarily with worldwide DB2 Software Engineer teams, designing and developing critical functions for customer requirements. Yuan also became the owner of the DB2 Codegen component. From 2016 to 2018, Yuan Su worked at IBM as a Manager, Customer Experience, establishing and leading a team to drive projects ensuring excellent customer experience for Db2 Warehouse on Cloud. Yuan also held positions as a Manager Software Engineering (SAP Support) and Manager, Software Engineering (Kernel), managing teams and taking responsibility for a large portion of Db2 revenue. Since 2018, they have been working at CaseWare International Inc., initially as a Development Manager and currently as the Head of Development, Hybrid Cloud. In 2022, they co-founded Nuvo Technology Ltd.
Yuan Su obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours from Acadia University, where they studied Computer Science from 2002 to 2005. Yuan later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Corporate Strategy and Leadership at the University of Toronto from 2014 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, Yuan Su obtained various certifications in areas such as leadership, coaching, managing employees, strategic focus, audit, due diligence, adaptability, and emotional engagement from LinkedIn between August and September 2019.
