Yuan Su

Yuan Su has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and development. Yuan started their career with an internship at IBM Canada in 2003, where they primarily worked on designing and executing FVT test buckets for DB2's newest features. Yuan also led the design of local-aware scalar SQL functions. Yuan then moved on to work as a Software Engineer at IBM Canada from 2005 to 2009, where they collaborated with the DB2 Development team to gather data and conduct problem analysis for faster resolution. Yuan also worked in the DB2 System Testing team to develop tools and perform comprehensive tests for ensuring high-quality DB2 releases.

Yuan Su continued their journey at IBM Canada as a Staff Software Engineer from 2010 to 2015. In this role, they mainly worked with worldwide DB2 Software Engineer teams to design, develop, manage, and deliver high-quality DB2 features. Yuan played a key role in designing and developing critical functions, particularly in-memory Joins, Join spilling, and work unit management. Yuan also became the owner of DB2 Codegen component, ensuring efficient execution of SQL requests.

In 2016, Yuan Su transitioned to a managerial role as Manager, Customer Experience at IBM, where they established and led a team responsible for assuring the excellent customer experience of Db2 Warehouse on Cloud. Yuan also created a new ELK-based system level monitoring system for identifying patterns and predicting operational issues using machine learning. In the same organization, they also served as Manager, Software Engineering (SAP Support) from 2017 to 2018, where they managed a team providing integration and support for SAP Systems using Db2. Yuan was directly responsible for a large portion of Db2 revenue and maintained relationships with vendor partners.

After their tenure at IBM, Yuan Su joined CaseWare International Inc. in 2018 as a Development Manager, where they led a team and was involved in the development of hybrid cloud solutions. Yuan then took on the role of Head of Development, Hybrid Cloud in 2019, where they continued to oversee the development of hybrid cloud solutions.

In 2022, Yuan Su became a Co-Founder of Nuvo Technology Ltd., where they are currently involved in the company's operations.

Yuan Su completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Corporate Strategy and Leadership from the University of Toronto from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, Yuan Su obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours from Acadia University from 2002 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, Yuan Su has obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including "Balancing Multiple Roles as a Leader," "Coaching Employees through Difficult Situations," "Coaching Skills for Leaders and Managers," "Managing Experts," "Managing High Performers," "Managing High Potentials," "Strategic Focus for Managers," "Aaron Dignan on Transformational Change," "Audit and Due Diligence Foundations," "Developing Adaptability as a Manager," and "Igniting Emotional Engagement." These certifications were obtained between August and September of 2019.
