Marisa Muchow has a diverse work experience in the legal industry. Marisa currently serves as a Committee Member at the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC) since 2022. Prior to this, they held various roles at Metricon, starting as the Senior Legal Counsel from February 2016 to June 2018. Marisa then worked as the General Counsel from June 2018 to July 2022 before being promoted to their most recent position as the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary. Marisa also worked as a Senior Lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor from May 2015 to February 2016. Before that, they served as the Director at the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) from August 2012 to May 2015. Marisa began their legal career as a Solicitor at Mullins Lawyers in January 2007 and remained in that role until 2008 when they joined the Department of Industry as a Senior Legal Counsel until August 2012.
Marisa Muchow received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from The University of Queensland in 2001. Marisa then pursued a Bachelor of Laws degree from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and completed it in 2005. In 2011, they furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Laws degree in Intellectual Property Law/Commercial Law from QUT. Additionally, in 2021, Marisa Muchow received the ACC Top 10 30-Somethings certification from ACC Top 10 30-Somethings Awards.
