Charlotte Hill has worked in the scientific field for over ten years. In 2010, they began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Surrey, where they genotyped and maintained transgenic mouse colonies, and conducted behavioural testing of mice. In 2014, they joined Charles River Laboratories as an Associate Scientist, where they used their manual patch clamp skills to collect data for low-throughput screening assays and relatively small exploratory ion channel projects. In 2017, they moved to University College Dublin, where they provided technical support for the teaching programmes in the School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, and was Module Coordinator for Biomolecular Lab Skills. In 2018, they were Seconded Fellow (Marie S Curie H2020 RISE) at ZeClinics, a Biotech Contract Research Organisation, to assess drug efficacy and safety. Finally, in 2019, they joined Metrion Biosciences as a Senior Scientist, where they use their experience with automated patch clamp and plate-based assays to conduct ion channel screens using the QPatch platform, and performs the BacMam transduction technique to express ion channels for QPatch experiments. Charlotte also performs data analysis and writing reports, in addition to some compound management activities.
Charlotte Hill has a diverse educational background. Charlotte completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuropharmacology at the University of Reading from 2011 to 2015. Charlotte also obtained a Master's Degree in Toxicology from the University of Surrey between 2008 and 2009. Lastly, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacology from King's College London between 2005 and 2008.
