Deborah Ovsenny has a diverse work experience in various human resources roles. Deborah is currently working at Metrolinx as the Vice President of Human Resources Service Delivery since July 2021, where they oversee the delivery of HR services. Prior to this role, Deborah held the position of Director of HR Operations & Total Rewards at Metrolinx since November 2017. In 2017, they also worked as a Senior HR and Total Rewards Consultant as a self-employed professional.
Earlier in their career, Deborah worked at the University of Toronto for a significant period of time. Deborah held positions such as Executive Director of Total Rewards from July 2013 to August 2017, during which they led the development and implementation of HR strategies and programs. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Compensation & HRIS Process Optimization from January 2011 to June 2013, and as the Manager of Compensation from September 2004 to January 2011. Deborah started their career at the University of Toronto as an HR Manager in September 2003 and worked as an HR Generalist & Compensation Specialist from January 1998 to September 2003. In these roles, they provided a wide range of HR services, including advising on organizational design, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and staff development. Deborah also played a significant role in developing and implementing HR and compensation projects at the University.
Deborah Ovsenny received their education in a variety of fields. Deborah obtained a BSc degree in Psychology & Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto in the years 1989-1993. Prior to that, they attended Aldershot High School until 1989. In the years 1998-2001, Deborah pursued a degree in Human Resources Management and Services from HRPA. Additionally, they completed the World at Work Certified Compensation Professional program from 2006 to 2010. Deborah also holds certifications in CCP from World at Work and CHRL from HRPA.
