Jennifer Ankrett has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jennifer is currently serving as the Vice President, Business Partnerships & Labour Relations, Human Resources at Metrolinx since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer at Legal Aid Ontario from March 2022 to July 2023. From 2017 to 2022, Jennifer served as the Executive Director, Strategy & Administration at York University. Jennifer also has teaching experience as a Professor of Human Resources Management at Durham College from 2015 to 2016. Jennifer has held different positions at York University, including Director of the Career Centre from 2009 to 2012 and Executive Officer (Director, Human Resources & Finance) from 2005 to 2009. Jennifer also worked as a Director in Academic Advising & Career Centre and Director of Arts & Science Co-op at the University of Toronto from 2012 to 2016. Jennifer started their career as a Human Resources Representative at Toromont Industries in 2004 and previously served as a Human Resources & Training Coordinator at York University from 2001 to 2003.
Jennifer Ankrett completed their education history with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education (PhD) specializing in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto, expected to be obtained in 2026. Prior to that, they earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Organizational Behaviour and Public Management from the Schulich School of Business - York University in 2010. Jennifer also completed a Senior University Administrators Course (SUAC) in the Centre for Higher Education Research and Development (CHERD) at the University of Manitoba in 2013.
In terms of certifications, Jennifer obtained Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation from HRPA - Human Resources Professionals Association in 2006.
