James Shia

James Shia is a Research Scientist at Metron, Inc. since July 2020, specializing in autonomous simulations, energy planning, data visualization for unmanned systems, risk avoidance, path planning, and systems health monitoring. Prior to this role, James Shia served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Berkeley, and as a Graduate Student Researcher focusing on continuous commissioning of buildings. James Shia has an extensive educational background, holding a PhD in Heat Transfer, Statistics, and Optimization from the University of California, Berkeley, alongside Master's degrees in Heat Transfer from UC Berkeley and Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Taiwan University. James Shia also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and completed high school at Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School.
