Daniel Cooper's work experience includes roles at multiple organizations. From 2005-2007, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Nathalie P. Voorhees Center for Neighborhood and Community Improvement and Vanderbilt University. In 2006, they also worked as a Research Consultant at Touchstone Center for Collaborative Inquiry. In 2007-2010, they served as the Director of Evaluation at Bethel New Life. From 2011-2015, they worked as an Assistant Director at the Adler School of Professional Psychology. From 2015-2018, they held roles as the Co-Director of the Institute on Social Exclusion and the Executive Director of the Center for Equitable Cities at Adler University. Daniel then joined the Metropolitan Planning Council in 2018 as the Director of Research and was later promoted to Senior Director of Research in 2023. Daniel was also a Fellow at Leadership Greater Chicago from 2016-2017.
Daniel Cooper completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at North Park University from 1997 to 2001. Daniel then pursued a Master of Science in Community Research and Action at Vanderbilt University from 2002 to 2004. Following this, they attended the University of Illinois Chicago from 2004 to 2007 and obtained a Master of Urban Planning and Policy in Community Development. Daniel later returned to Vanderbilt University, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Community Research and Action from 2006 to 2012.
