Joseph Westover

Joseph Westover has extensive experience in the legal field, currently serving as a Public Defender at the Metropolitan Public Defender since September 2021. Prior to this role, Joseph worked as an Attorney at Multnomah Defenders Inc. from November 2020 to September 2021 and held the position of Associate Attorney at Sherlag DeMuniz LLP for almost a year. Joseph's experience with Multnomah Defenders Inc. also includes a previous tenure as an Attorney from November 2015 to January 2020. Early in Joseph's career, a Judicial Clerkship for the Hon. Michael Greenlick at the Multnomah County Circuit Court was completed between May 2014 and November 2015. Joseph began as a Certified Law Student at the Metropolitan Public Defender from January 2013 to January 2014 and gained initial legal experience as a Law Clerk at Dolan Griggs and a Legal Intern at the ACLU of Oregon. Joseph earned a Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics from Western Washington University.
