Joe Mahoney

Joe Mahoney is an experienced professional in the field of journalism and visual storytelling, currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Journalism and Adjunct Faculty at Metropolitan State University of Denver since September 2010. Mahoney has a rich background in photojournalism, having worked as a freelance Photographer/Videographer and owner of MahoneyImages from April 2016 to September 2023, providing a variety of visual services for editorial and commercial clients. Previous roles include National Visuals Assigning Editor at iPondr, Director of Multimedia & Videographer at RMPBS News, and Deputy Director of Multimedia at the Rocky Mountain News, where Mahoney played a significant role in multimedia journalism. Mahoney's career began with the Associated Press and included a position at the University of Wyoming. Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Political Science and Government at the University of Colorado Denver, Mahoney also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
