Wendy Tapper

Wendy Tapper has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Wendy currently holds the position of Head of Product Design at MeWe since May 2023. Prior to that, they served as VP of Design at Swaye for Music from September 2020 until May 2023. Additionally, they were the Senior Director of Product Design at Swaye for Music from January 2020 to September 2020.

Before joining Swaye for Music, Wendy worked as the Director of Product Design at MeWe Network from May 2018 to January 2020. Wendy played a crucial role in leading the design team and addressing privacy concerns for the next-gen social network app.

Prior to MeWe Network, Wendy ran their own design company, Wendy Tapper Design, from 2003 to 2018. During this time, they collaborated with various clients, including several product teams within Microsoft, where they served in the capacities of Creative Director, Art Director, UX Designer, and Lead. Wendy worked on projects such as Windows Genuine Advantage, Windows Live OneCare, Windows Server, Windows Legal, and IT Solutions for SMB.

Before establishing their design company, Wendy worked at Enprecis Group as the Head of Design from July 2012 to May 2016. Wendy introduced user experience design research and implemented a user-centered design approach for web application development. At Enprecis Group, they also contributed to defining next-generation products and services.

From September 2008 to July 2012, Wendy worked as a UX Product Designer at Microsoft. Wendy was solely responsible for user experience product design deliverables for Windows Embedded Standard 7.0 and Windows Embedded Developer Update.

Wendy's professional journey began at Microsoft in 1996, where they served as an Art Director/Product Design Lead for the .NET Platform Strategy Group until 2002.

Prior to their time at Microsoft, Wendy worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer at Creative Assets from 1995 to 1996, and as a Senior Graphic Designer at FourGen Software from 1990 to 1995. At FourGen Software, they designed marketing materials and oversaw production. Their responsibilities also included developing illustrations and artwork for publication.

Wendy Tapper's education history includes various educational experiences. In 1991, they attended Highline College and studied Design and Visual Communications, General. Following this, they enrolled at General Assembly in London, UK in 2016 to pursue a field of study called UXDi. In the same year, they also obtained certifications in Hands-On UX: Mobile Prototyping from LinkedIn and Effective Communication from Dale Carnegie. Additionally, they attended SVC in 2015, although the details of their degree or field of study are not available. Wendy Tapper completed their high school education at Fife High School, although the specific years are unknown.
