Gary Smerdon

Gary Smerdon is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various companies in the semiconductor, data storage, and computing sectors. Currently serving as CEO and Founder of MEXT since April 2023, Gary is focused on leveraging AI to reduce global computing costs. Prior to this, Gary held key positions including President & CEO of TidalScale, where innovative Software-Defined Server solutions were provided, and Senior Advisor at SKTelecom Americas. Additional notable roles include Acting CEO of Pavilion Data Systems and Executive Vice President at Fusion-io, where strategic initiatives were executed to position the company for future growth. Gary's leadership at LSI Corporation resulted in the establishment of the Accelerated Solutions Division, which became the fastest-growing segment in the company, alongside prior success in various marketing and sales roles at companies like Tarari and Greenfield Networks. Gary holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Duke University, earned between 1980 and 1984.
