Ravinath Kulathunga

Ravinath Kulathunga has a strong background in engineering and project management. Ravinath began their career as a Civil Engineer at Southern Group Civil Constructions Pvt. Ltd. in 2003, where they were responsible for on-site supervision and invoicing. Ravinath then worked as a Civil Engineer at the State Development & Construction Corporation Sri Lanka, overseeing a DI pipe laying project and liaising with the main contractor. In 2004, they joined the National Water Supply and Drainage Board as a Civil Engineer before transitioning to Dutco Balfour Beatty LLC. in 2005 as a Site Civil Engineer.

Ravinath's experience expanded in 2009 when they joined the State Engineering Corporation of Sri Lanka as a Civil Engineer. In this role, they managed construction projects, handled subcontractors, and facilitated progress review meetings. From 2011 to 2017, they worked at Engineering Consultants (Pvt) Ltd., first as a Project Manager/Project Engineer, ensuring effective project management and contract administration. Ravinath then became Chief Operating Officer, overseeing infrastructure projects, budget management, and risk mitigation.

In 2017, Ravinath moved to Engineering Consultants (Pvt) Ltd. - Infrastructure as a Head of Program Delivery. Ravinath continued to be responsible for project delivery, cash flow management, and risk identification. Ravinath then joined MG Consultants (Pvt) Ltd. in 2019, again as Head of Program Delivery, where they ensured the overall operation of engineering and infrastructure projects.

Ravinath Kulathunga completed their undergraduate studies from 1998 to 2002 at the University of Peradeniya, where they obtained a B.Sc. (Eng.) degree in Civil Engineering. In 2012, they joined the University of Moratuwa to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Project Management, which they completed in 2018. Additionally, they obtained certification as a Chartered Engineer and Corporate Member from The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka, in 2016.
