Marius Botha

Marius Botha is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in risk management and investment strategies. Currently serving as the Interim Chief Executive Officer at M&G Investments Southern Africa since March 2024 and as Chief Risk Officer at M&G Investments since November 2020, Marius has held significant roles in top financial institutions. Experience includes positions as Global Director of Investment and Credit Risk and Global Director of Investment Risk at Aviva Investors, and Senior Risk Consultant at Threadneedle Investments. Marius's background also encompasses leadership roles such as Chief Risk Officer at Reech AiM Group and Head of Commodities at AHL, Man Group. Educational achievements include a PhD focused on market and credit risk management from the University of the Free State, alongside a Master's in Hedge Funds and an Honours in Financial Analysis.
