Billy Marter

Billy Marter is an experienced educator and musician currently serving as an online teacher at Elevatek12 since August 2021 and as an adjunct instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College since August 2007, specializing in Music Appreciation and Guitar. Additionally, Billy has maintained a freelance music career since 1991, further demonstrating a commitment to music education. Previously, Billy contributed as a music teacher at the Mary C Okeefe Culture Center for Arts and Education from 2012 to January 2019 and taught English as a Second Language at Pascagoula School District from 2007 to 2010, where students showed significant improvement in proficiency. Billy's international experience includes serving as Lead Foreign Teacher at Hikarigaoka Girl's High School in Japan from 2003 to 2006, overseeing curriculum development and mentoring other educators. Academically, Billy holds a Master of Music degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from The University of Southern Mississippi.
