Daniel Kafie has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as the Co-Founder/CEO of Olipay since August 2019. Olipay is a fintech company focused on bridging the consumer lending gap in the Latin American region by using behavioral data and AI to assess default risk.
Prior to Olipay, Daniel worked as a Partner at Expanding Capital, a venture capital fund based in Silicon Valley. From January 2016 to January 2018, they helped the fund invest in breakthrough companies and supported their growth and expansion into Latin America.
Before joining Expanding Capital, Daniel co-founded and served as the CEO of Vostu, the largest social gaming company in Brazil and Latin America. Daniel successfully led the company from its establishment in March 2007 to March 2016, attracting significant investments from prominent investors such as Tiger Global and Accel.
Adding to their entrepreneurial ventures, Daniel was also a co-founder of HotelHoje. From February 2012 to December 2014, they played a key role in establishing the company in the hotel industry.
Throughout their career, Daniel Kafie has demonstrated expertise in entrepreneurship, venture capital investments, and leading successful companies in the fintech and gaming sectors across Latin America.
Daniel Kafie began their education at Harvard University in 2001, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics. Daniel completed their undergraduate studies in 2005. Following this, Daniel enrolled at Harvard Business School in 2005, where they earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General in 2007.
