Catalina Schultze-Kraft has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and organizations. Catalina began their career as a Research Assistant at Texas A&M University from 2001 to 2004. Catalina then worked as a Registered Nurse at Brackenridge Hospital from 2007 to 2009. Following this, they became a Diabetes Educator at University Health System, where they focused on developing bilingual health education materials for low-income and low-literacy populations. From 2012 to 2017, Catalina worked at Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc., starting as a Registered Nurse and progressing to roles such as Professional Development Specialist, Professional Development Manager, and Director of Regional Nursing and Wellness Programs. During their time at Methodist Healthcare Ministries, they introduced Faith Community Nursing and piloted the implementation of a Community Health Worker Program.
Catalina Schultze-Kraft began their education in 1999 at Texas A&M University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology. Catalina completed their undergraduate studies in 2003. Afterward, they enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin and earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2009, specializing in Public Health. Their educational journey continued in 2022, when they joined the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health to pursue a Doctor of Public Health degree in the field of Health Equity and Social Justice.
