Matthew Leonard

Matthew Leonard has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. Matthew began their career as a Swim Instructor and Lifeguard at Gardner-Webb University in 2008. In 2009, they took on the role of Chapter President at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where they served until 2011. In 2010, Matthew worked as an Intern, specializing in photography and videography, at Baptist Press. At Gardner-Webb University, they interned as a Public Relations and Communication Intern, gaining experience in press releases, media contacts, radio broadcast, and campus photography.

Matthew Leonard also has experience in the field of marketing and communications. Matthew worked as a Swim Coach and Site Supervisor at Swift Swimming from 2011 to 2012, followed by a Swim Coach role at San Antonio Wave from 2012 to 2014. In the same period, they worked at New Reach Media as a Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, Marketing Communications Specialist, and ultimately as Director of Marketing Communications. Matthew played a crucial role in email marketing, project management, digital marketing, and the development of marketing content.

Matthew's most recent employment has been at Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc., where they have held multiple roles in the communications department. Matthew started as a Communications Manager in 2017 and was later promoted to Senior Communications Manager and then Director of Communications. Methodist Healthcare Ministries is a faith-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care access in South Texas.

Matthew Leonard completed their education at Gardner-Webb University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication - Public Relations from 2008 to 2011. Prior to that, they attended Grove City College in 2007 and 2008, focusing on Communication and Media Studies. In 2006, they attended Stanford University's Summer School program. Furthermore, Matthew Leonard obtained a certification in Email Marketing from HubSpot in March 2017.
