Special Advisor to the Vice Chairman, President & CEO at Miami Dolphins

Dan Marino is entering his fifth season in a front office capacity with the Dolphins after Chairman of the Board and Managing General Partner Stephen Ross named him the team's special advisor on August 24, 2014. In his role, Marino works in a variety of different capacities throughout all facets of the organization.

The most decorated player in team history, Marino spent his entire 17-year playing career with the Dolphins. He played in 242 games (240 starts) and was 4,967-of-8,358 (59.4 percent) passing for 61,361 yards, 420 touchdowns and 252 interceptions for an 86.4 passing efficiency rating. Marino holds 28 Dolphins regular season team records (40 overall, including playoffs) and is tied for two others (three, including playoffs). At the time of his retirement, Marino held 25 NFL regular season records and was tied for five others. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Feb. 5, 2005 and enshrined on Aug. 7, 2005. Marino's No. 13 jersey became the second Dolphins' uniform number to be retired, on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at halftime of the Dolphins-Baltimore Ravens game, where he was inducted into the Dolphins Honor Roll. He was also a charter inductee in the Dolphins Walk of Fame on Dec. 4, 2011. Additionally, in 2015 he was voted as one of the Dolphins' all-time top 50 players as part of the franchise's 50th season celebration.

Marino remains active in the South Florida community. In 1992, he established and continues as chairman of The Dan Marino Foundation, which has raised more than $50 million focusing on children and young adults with autism. He founded "first-of-its-kind" initiatives including: the MCH Dan Marino Center in Weston, Fla. which has over 50,000 visits annually, nationally developed the Marino Autism Research Institute, and in 2014 opened Marino Campus, a unique post-secondary educational program for young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. He also hosts the annual DMF WalkAbout Autism at the Hard Rock Stadium, attended by more than 18,000 children and families. The event has raised more than $2 million to support autism programs in South Florida.

A native of Pittsburgh, Marino graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with his degree in communications. He received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in broadcast journalism from Pitt in 2008.

Marino and his wife, Claire, have six children, Daniel Charles, Michael Joseph, Joseph Donald, Alexandra Claire, Niki Lin, and Lia, and reside in Weston.
