Aliya Hussaini

Portfolio Director, US Health at Michael & Susan Dell Foundation

Aliya Hussaini has a diverse work experience in the field of health and medical services. Aliya started their journey in 2007 as a Manager and Associate Medical Director at the Texas Department of State Health Services. In 2008, they joined the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation as a Portfolio Director, where they focused on US Health initiatives. Since 2017, Aliya has been working at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin, initially as an Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Pediatrics and later also in the Department of Population Health. Aliya'scurrent roles at the Dell Medical School are ongoing.

Aliya Hussaini completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology and Economics from Swarthmore College from 1993 to 1997. Aliya then pursued their MD from the University of Illinois Chicago from 1997 to 2001. Aliya went on to complete their Pediatrics Residency at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital from 2001 to 2005. Following their residency, they obtained a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar, MSc degree in Health Policy Research from the University of Pennsylvania from 2005 to 2007. Additionally, Aliya obtained a certification in Managing Healthcare Delivery from Harvard Business School in May 2022.
