Mohsen Jafarzadeh

Mohsen Jafarzadeh is a senior machine learning engineer at Michaels Stores since April 2022, specializing in statistical modeling, computer vision, and natural language understanding. At Michaels, Jafarzadeh has led multiple proof of concept initiatives aimed at enhancing search systems and conducted statistical analyses to derive product insights. Previously, Jafarzadeh served as a research associate at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs from February 2020 to April 2022, where efforts focused on formalizing the science of artificial intelligence for open-world novelty and integrating statistical extreme value theory into machine learning models. Jafarzadeh earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2019, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside in 2015, a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2014, and a Bachelor of Science in Robotics Engineering from Shahrood University of Technology in 2011.
